Coming to Church is sometimes a daunting experience! Here are some things that might help you enjoy church a little bit more!
Getting through the door!
Each Church has an old door. Hopefully, someone will be there to meet you, but if the door is closed, turn the handle hard and push. Someone will give you the books you need for the service when you come in.
What should I wear?
Anything! Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Jeans and t-shirt is fine! Bear in mind that these old buildings are cold in the winter months.
Where can I sit?
Please sit where you feel comfortable.
Can I bring my children?
Of course you can! The Church is a family. If your children are noisy, that’s fine too! There is a children’s area in each Church and somewhere you can settle crying children too. Our congregations do not mind having children in Church!
Do I have to say anything?
You won’t be put on the spot. You won’t have to wear a name badge or be singled out in any way. You don’t even have to sing along if you don’t feel comfortable.
What do I put in the collection plate?
You don’t have to put anything in the collection plate. If you’d like to make a donation towards the work of the Church, please put something in the plate if you are able.
Will I enjoy coming to Church?
Probably! Most people who come for Christenings or Weddings say that want to come back again – and most do! We often see people come for our Family Services or for Christmas, Easter or other major festivals. See the news and events page for more information.
